the weather and its impact

So in the last few weeks here in limerick we have braved the elements and got on with it went to our work our college and some have socialized regardless of the weather. unfortunately ive had to witness 3 soccer matches in three weeks being called off due to stormy and rainy conditions. while we have continued our training i have noticed my own peace of mind and sense of soccer related excitement being impeded by either storm denis davie ellen or whatever name they have on it now. so news is there is another storm forecaster for this week and all of our matches have been cancelled again. although at knockainey we are struggling in our league in limerick division 2a, we need to keep interest and momentum up. a few improved performances have indeed served us well as of late but the interruption due to weather has sort of conspired to break our stride. we have less numbers for training and cannot organise a friendly game due to the drop in personnel at our club. we head into training tonight and the more committed players are becoming discontent with the numbers of the rest of players. my own mental health is a little less positive without that big game to look forward to of a Sunday morning and although we have lost the majority of our games the sport and club soccer has helped me a lot. i have a better routine better diet and also a more resilient mindset due to playing sport so i can say now the sooner we are back playing competitively the better. the training and matches has served as a catalyst for more positive outcomes from yours truly here. i must start getting my boots and playing gear ready so farewell for now. one positive i did manage to identify and connect with is the fact that due to the interruption of scheduled games as of late, we could now be forced to play two games a week in march and April so there is my little idea of heaven two games a week!! just hope we have a match soon and that we can pick up some positive results in the relegation battle we are currently fighting in our league. Knockainey ABU!!
